Things that hinders prayers

 Anthony C. Nwokolo
Continued from last week, we discussed about unforgiving attitude as one of the things that hinders prayers. Today we shall look at the number 2 thing that hinders prayers, and that thing is sin.  Let's see the scriptures.
"KJV:Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear - Isaiah 59:1-2

In view of the foregoing scriptures we can see that sin is another major thing that hinders prayers and the blessings of the Lord. I don't need to emphasize much on this because everyone knows this truth. But l gonna  share some scriptures to underscore this truth. Before I dive into the Holy Scriptures. Let share my simple definition of sin. Sin is disobedience to God's instructions.

KJV:If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. KJV:But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge - Job 36:11-12

KJV:If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land - Isaiah 1:19

Psalms  37:25   I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

I believe these words from God are are enough proofs about the benefits of heeding and obeying God' instructions. A word is enough for the wise.

However, no one can live righteous by his or her own power or efforts rather by the help of the Holy Spirit. Its only after one is born and filled with the holy Spirit that one can be able to overcome the power of sin, by mortifying the flesh and all the lusts associated with it (the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life).

The question is how can one be born or receive the Holy Spirit? The answer is simply by accepting that Jesus Christ has died for your sin, and that your old sinful nature has died and was buried with Christ and that the Spirit of the resurrected Christ is dwelling and manifesting through you.

If you are not saved yet, backslided or are not sure of your salvation, please say this prayer with faith.
Prayer; Lord Jesus Christ I surrender to your Lordship today, wash my sins away with your precious blood. Come and live, reign and manifest through me from this day, henceforth, in Jesus Christ's Nam I declare, Amen!

To be continued. Do share with friends, relatives and even enemies and together we shall spread the truth.

#Am seated with Christ in heavenly places far above principalities and power! What about you?
